Wow!

It has been a while, hasn’t it?

To be honest it really does feel good to be writing content again. Over the past month and a half I have been extremely busy trying to figure myself out, and where Vio Fitness and The Fitness Oracle is going. And I have come up with some amazing ideas with two new items. One is a FREE program that I am going to release next week, and the other is a new series on Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube that I released today called the Be Better Clean Slate series where I talk about my perspective on the fitness industry and my own coaching style.

But today on here I want to talk about the one BIG question surrounding muscle and food. I mean this is the topic that I am talking about the whole week after all.

Let’s start off with the the why? Why is it so important to build muscle in the body? and why do you need the proper food to help build the muscle?

Why build muscle?

I get this all the time especially from people that want to lose weight. And my answer is always the same. You need to build muscle for many reasons, but specifically looking at weight loss, the more muscle fibers you tear at the gym, the more energy you need to use to repair it. And where do we get this energy? Fat stores. We use or stored fat cells as an energy source in order for us to repair the muscle that we “damaged” on the gym floor, or at home with our home workouts. There are other reasons but this one fits hand-in-hand with the topic of weight loss.

Why do you need the proper food?

Another big topic that comes up all of the time with clients. Imagine you own a McLaren P1 supercar. Would you put Regular fuel in the tank every time you fill up at the gas station? If you answered Yes please don’t ever buy this car cause you’ll kill it. I know every one answered no to this, why? it’s a high performance vehicle, and it needs high performance fuel.
