I know I am using this day specifically for me to into some weird rabbit holes. To tell you the truth I need it as it helps me get some stuff off my chest, if you get offended please stop reading my blog posts on Friday’s and read all the other ones.

Today I am going to go off on this whole concept that intermittent fasting is a “new” fad.

Let’s get one thing straight here. Intermittent fasting is nothing new. It has been around since the dawn of human kind as when we were roaming the plains of Africa (common way of how we used to live) there were days on days going on weeks where we wouldn’t have food to eat because we would have to go out and kill or forage for our food. Our bodies have adapted to these conditions in order for it to survive and thrive.

It has been only for the past 10,000 years that we have had settled down to create farms, villages, towns, and cities which has lead us to have an excess amount of food so that we wouldn’t have to go out and hunt, and forage.

Let’s look at some other number as why this kind of annoys me that intermittent fasting is new.

Based off of common scientific data anthropologists estimate that humans have been around for about 2 to 2.5 million years where we have been roaming this rock in this form (more or less) and only in the last 10,000 years we have had farms. So, between 2.5 million years to 10,000 years ago we have been doing intermittent fasting as a form of survival…so…how is this a “new” thing?

As you can see this form of fasting has been around for a VERY LONG TIME and this is nothing “new” and has been ingrained into your DNA from our ancestors since the dawn of time, and I don’t like it when people label this as “new” fad.
